Introduction

FriendsResidential Care is the ideal setting for individuals who are still independent, but who may benefit from assistance with the activities of everyday life. Hilltop House provides this alternative living arrangement that combines the best of all worlds.

We know at times the responsibilties of a home or an apartment can be overwhelming. These constant worries can take the pleasure out of retirement. Hilltop House is the perfect place to enjoy a life free of these stresses.

We offer comfortable private living spaces and well appointed common areas in a lovely Victorian setting. There is a large, well-equipped activity room that overlooks the Connecticut River. In addition, we are located within walking distance of the town common and — for some of our heartier residents — within walking distance of the downtown shopping area.

Respite Care

Gazebo at Hilltop HouseHilltop House also provides short term respite care for elders needing temporary living accommodations. Some residents spend the winter while others stay a few days or a few weeks. We furnish all the necessities. We provide the same services offered to our full time residents including nursing overview, medication management and transportation to appointments. All rights and privileges are accorded equally to everyone who resides at Hilltop House.

Admission Criteria

To be eligible for admission to Hilltop House, individuals must be capable of getting to meals on a regular basis, performing personal care with minimal assistance, and satisfying fire and other safety regulations.
