Hilltop Activities
Hilltop House residents enjoy a variety of planned activities and programs that are held in our activity room, in our parlor, and outdoors. Scheduled outings take residents into the community. Our activity room has a full kitchen, a library with books, music and movies, a TV corner, a piano, games, and two large tables. A formal parlor on the main floor has a piano, more books, and a television. Our residents also enjoy several smaller informal sitting areas both inside and outdoors for visiting with one another, family and friends. A gazebo and paved walkway on our north lawn, and a vegetable and flower gardens offer outdoor enjoyment as well.
Volunteers augment activities and programs as well as provide an array of services:
- Vocal and instrumental music programs include classical, jazz, old standards, 50’s rock ‘n roll, folk, hymns, sing-a-longs, and outdoor concerts in the summer.
- An exercise group meets twice a week.
- Local area clergy lead worship programs.
- Volunteers read current events and lead other literary programs.
- A liaison from the town library picks up and returns library books.
- School children offer intergenerational activities and programs.
- Popular games include Bingo, Wheel of Fortune, Rummikub, Cribbage, Checkers, jig saw puzzles, and Croquet in the summer.

We have a beauty shop and a hairdresser that offered weekly services.
- Movies are shown on Saturday nights.
- We go out to eat at local restaurants.
- We celebrate birthdays every month.
- Residents bake in our activity room kitchen.

- A certified massage therapist gives massages.
- A volunteer gives manicures.
- Summer Cook-outs
- Community Service Projects
- Popular outings include: picnics, riverboat rides, museum outings, fall foliage trips, scenic train rides, concerts and plays.
